SDEA leadership and our bargaining team remain committed to bringing major decisions about our contract to SDEA members. The District’s January 14 bargaining proposal marks a significant event in the bargaining process, and necessitates that SDEA members come back together in the next week to decide our path.
Make no mistake: our leadership and bargaining team believe that the District’s proposal is deeply flawed (and unacceptable in its present form). But it is up to all of us to evaluate where we currently are, what options are before us, and the best way for our union to proceed with bargaining.
Let’s gather once again to listen to each other and voice our concerns. SDEA is in the process of scheduling a series of full membership meetings throughout the District during the week of January 25.
