This training is intended to teach members how to recognize and respond to violations of state and federal law. We will have a CTA specialist on Special Education issues present to help lead this training. A CTA attorney will also attend the meeting to answer questions related to state and federal law.
Preparing for the Meeting:
- Identify a person from you site that will come to this meeting. Ideally this person would not be the site AR because your AR will be going to a number of union meetings in the upcoming months as a result of contract negotiations.
- Seating is limited, so you must RSVP to purvis_m@sdea.net or 619-283-4411.
- Talk about Special Education issues with your site and come prepared to ask questions that are of concern for your whole site!
It’s up to us, SDEA, to ensure that the District’s top-down changes to Special Education Programs are implemented in
a way that makes sense for students and educators. Make sure your voice is heard!
