Have You Contacted Your AR?
If you are an SDEA member and believe your contractual rights have been violated, your first step should be contacting your site Association Representative with your questions and concerns. Your AR will help you determine whether it is appropriate to initiate the grievance process, and will work with SDEA to address your concerns. Working with your AR is a crucial component of strengthening union capacity at your school. It is possible that other members at the site may be experiencing problems similar to yours, and your AR is the best person to identify these patterns and get SDEA staff involved.
