Contract Fact
By Steve Kaplan, UniServe Field Organizer

Itinerant Staffing Itinerant staff are addressed in Section 12.16 and Section 12.1.9. An itinerant is defined as a person who "may provide services to students of more than one site and which is assigned to one central cost center." Such staff now have a contractual process for impacting their assignments. The process is to be defined within each "program/department, in consultation through the program's governance team." (Section 12.16.4). The process must include an opportunity for itinerant staff to "express their preferences for work schedules … including level, program, school(s) or special interests." This must occur by March 1 (Section 12.16.2). By May 1 itinerants shall be given "information regarding the assignment combinations anticipated for the ensuing school year" (Section 12.16.3).
