Special
Evaluations
By

Article
14, Section 14.8 of the Contract covers special evaluations.
These fall into two categories:
- Those
that occur to follow up on a unit member previously designated
as less than effective;
- Those
that occur when a demonstrable deficiency exists in a unit member's
job performance during a non-evaluation year. (14.8.7)
If
you were evaluated this year and received a rating of "needs
improvement" or "unsatisfactory" in any category
you will be placed on a special evaluation during the 2002 - 2003
school year. It is important that if this has happened to
you and you have not contacted the SDEA office
(619-283-4411) that you do so immediately.
If
you are not scheduled to be evaluated next year and your evaluator
informs you that you may be placed on an expedited special evaluation
it is important that you notify your school Association Representative
right away.
In
either case, there are a number of procedural steps you need to
now. There are also a number of strategies you can employ to increase
your chances of being successful at the end of the process
