SDEA Rights

Article 5 of the Contract delineates "Employee Organizations Rights." A partial list of rights includes:

• Right of every unit member to be provided a mail box.
  Section 5.1
• Right of the Association to conduct association business on the school site, center, or program at reasonable and appropriate times and places.
  Section 5.6.1.2.
• Right to an Association bulletin board. The Association may have more than one bulletin board with mutual agreement of the site administrator.
  Section 5.2.
• Right of the Association representative (AR) to meet with the administrator upon request of the AR during the AR's regular on-site work time but not during instructional time.
  Section 5.6.2.
  
• Right of the AR to site budget information upon request. Right of the AR to copies of District circulars and other materials that have an impact on the bargaining unit.
  Section 5.6.6.
  
• Right of the Association, upon request to reserve two Wednesdays per month for association meetings.
  Section 5.8.1.
  
• Right to one association site meeting per month upon mutual agreement with site administrator.
  Section 5.8.2.
  
• Right of programs such as speech pathologists, counselors, nurses, or psychologists to conduct association meetings of reasonable duration immediately prior to or upon the
  conclusion of job-alike meetings called by the District.
  Section 5.8.3.
  
• Right of the AR to be given the opportunity to present reports and announcements at the close of faculty meetings.
