Joint Committees

The Collective Negotiations Contract creates a number of Joint
Committees charged with specific tasks established within the
agreement. These Joint Committees created throughout the agreement
are listed in Article 29. Each committee is composed of members
appointed by SDEA and members appointed by the District. Some of the
Joint Committees are:

• Calendar Committee charged with developing a multiyear master
  calendar (8.2.1)
• Elementary Prep Time Committee charged with developing an annual schedule of assignments for prep time teachers, monitoring implementation of the prep time program, allocation of prep time to
  each elementary school and other tasks (8.7.2)
• Special Education Committee charged with monitoring caseloads
  established for special education and problem resolution (30.2)
• Intern Committee charged with reviewing and coordinating support for interns, reviewing proposed new intern programs, monitoring the number of interns in the District and other tasks (27.7)
