Evaluation
Remediation Plans
By
Steve Kaplan, UniServe Field Organizer
"Whenever
the evaluator determines that any aspect of an evaluatee's
evaluation may be less than satisfactory..." (14.6.3.1)
-
A conference shall be scheduled and you shall receive both verbally
and in writing specific objectives and criteria (14.6.3.1)
-
The remediation plan shall contain specific areas where improvement
is necessary, resources to be made available, the evaluator's
role in assisting, a timeline for monitoring performance (14.6.3.2)
-
This year this shall occur by February 2 at year-round schools
and by February 11 at traditional calendar schools (14.6.3.3)
A
remediation plan must be based on the results of one or more formal
observations. A formal observation must be prescheduled and you
must be notified who will observe and the method of observation.
(14.6.2.1)
Whenever
the evaluator is going to use such an observation as the basis
for a remediation plan they are required to provide you with a
"written statement concerning each observation being used
as an assessment technique." This must occur within approximately
ten workdays after the observation. (14.6.2.3)
For
additional detail you can read Sections 14.6.2 and 14.6.3 in the
Contract.
If
you have received a remediation plan and are not already in touch
with SDEA give us a call at 619-283-4411. Also, let us know if
you receive a remediation plan after the Feb. 2 or Feb. 11 timeline.
