New
Contract on the Web

SDEA
and the District have completed the draft of the new Contract.
The Contract was last printed in 1998. The new draft can be accessed
through a link on the SDEA website (www.sdea.net).
The Contract incorporates bargained changes since the last printing.
In addition SDEA and the District have made changes to clarify
existing language based on agreed practice, grievance resolutions
and Memorandums of Understanding.
One
example is the addition of the bolded language in Section 34.2.1.
Section
34.2: LETTERS OF REPRIMAND
34.2.1.
The steps set forth below will be followed with respect to unit
members whose performance or conduct warrants action by his/her
supervisor. Reasons for a letter of reprimand include, but are
not limited to, unsatisfactory performance, unprofessional conduct,
and persistent violation of or refusal to obey the school laws
of the state or reasonable regulations
prescribed by the governing board of the school district.

Verbal warning (Oral only, not provided in writing.)
34.2.1.2.
Written warning (Maintained in unit member's site or program
personnel file)
34.2.1.3.
Letter of Reprimand (Maintained in unit member's district personnel
file)
SDEA
and the District will be developing an additional article on Peer
Coach/Staff Developers. The Contract will be printed when this
article is completed.
