Our communities have recently been impacted by record breaking heat waves, and in recent years our union bargained language in our contract to ensure that unit members have access to air conditioning in “all classrooms and educational support spaces.” Beyond the protections in our contract and district policies, the OSHA indoor heat standards have recently been updated at the state level.
