We Can’t Wait: Community Hub
SDEA educators have reached agreement and cancelled their planned strike on February 26, 2026!
For years, the San Diego Unified School District hasn’t hired enough Special Education staff. This breaks the union contract of SDEA educators, denies support for students with disabilities, and hurts all students, especially in communities that already don’t have the resources they need. After trying everything else to fix this, educators voted to hold a 1-day Unfair Labor Practice strike.
The pressure of educators and community members standing up together got results! On February 12, educators reached an agreement with the District and called off the strike.
